Mysterious Death of a teenage Girl In Mito

Last Friday night, an 18-year old girl was found on the riverbank in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture. Her father, aged 48, was found several yards away. He had apparently stabbed himself in the neck, but the police have no leads on the case. He was taken to hospital on Saturday, and according to the doctors, his condition was serious but stable. The investigators are waiting until the man recovers, to question him about his daughter's death and his suicide attempt.


The teenager was found by a passerby at around 9 p.m. on the bank of the Naka River. She was lying on her back and was confirmed dead at the scene. There were no external signs of injury on her body and police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.

Mort mystérieuse d’une Adolescente

Vendredi soir dernier, une adolescente de 18 ans a été retrouvée au bord d'une rivière à Mito, dans la préfecture d'Ibaraki. Son père, âgé de 48 ans, a été retrouvé à plusieurs mètres. Il s'était apparemment poignardé au cou, mais la police ne sait rien de plus. Il a été conduit à l'hôpital samedi et, selon les médecins, son état était grave mais stable. La police attend que l'homme récupère pour l'interroger sur le décès de sa fille et sa tentative de suicide.

En ce qui concerne l’adolescente, elle a été retrouvée par un passant vers 21 heures, sur la rive de la rivière Naka. Elle était allongée sur le dos et son décès a été confirmé sur les lieux. Il n'y avait aucun signe extérieur de blessure sur son corps et la police a annoncé qu'une autopsie serait réalisée pour déterminer la cause de son décès.
