DINOSAUR HOLDS PASSENGERS PRISONERS FOR TWO HOURS

On Tuesday 1 May, at the Universal Studios Park in Osaka in western Japan, an incident occurred on a famous attraction called "Flying Dinosaur" inspired by the world of Jurassic Park. The attraction is meant to promise thrills. According to the park's website, an out of control pteranodon grabs you from behind and takes you high into the sky.

Two carriages were carrying 64 people when the attraction came to a standstill. An engine failure was detected and forced the attraction to stop out of safety reasons. One of the cars was hanging at the highest point of the attraction, about thirty meters from the ground.

The passengers lying flat on the ground had to wait for the staff to come and rescue them with an emergency bridge. The passengers who were in the highest car had to wait for two hours in this uncomfortable position.

No one was hurt according to the Universal Studios Park.

The incident took place during the annual Japanese holiday week named the "Golden Week", a period of great affluence for the park. The visitors were not discouraged from rushing and testing the roller coaster as soon as it restarted.

Technical problems on this ride had already occurred in August and September 2017.

LE DINOSAURE RETIENT LES PASSAGERS PRISONNIERS PENDANT DEUX HEURES

Mardi 1er mai, au parc Universal Studios d'Osaka dans l'ouest du Japon, un incident s'est produit sur une attraction phare du parc le "Dinosaure volant" inspirée de l'univers de Jurassic Park. L'attraction promet des sensations fortes. D'après le site internet du parc, un ptéranodon hors de contrôle vous saisit par derrière et vous emmène haut dans le ciel.

Deux voitures circulaient, transportant 64 personnes lorsque l'attraction s'est bloquée. En effet, une défaillance du moteur a été détectée, entraînant l'arrêt immédiat de l'attraction pour des raisons de sécurité. L'une des voitures se trouvait au point le plus haut de l'attraction soit à une trentaine de mètre du sol.

Les passagers couchés sur le sol ont dû attendre que le personnel vienne les secourir à l'aide d'une passerelle de secours. Les passagers qui se trouvaient dans la voiture la plus haute ont dû patienter pendant deux heures dans cette position inconfortable.

Personne n'a été blessé selon le parc Universal Studios Japan. Il y a eu plus de peur que de mal.

L'incident a eu lieu lors de la semaine annuelle de congé des Japonais, la "Golden Week". C'est une période de grande affluence pour le parc. Les visiteurs n'ont pas été découragés et se sont précipités pour tester l’attraction dès sa remise en marche.

Des problèmes techniques sur ce manège avaient déjà eu lieu en août et septembre 2017.
