Biggest manga museum in the world ?
Takao
Yaguchi, who was born in Akita in 1939, is the creator of Sanpei, a
young fisherman and a local hero. Takao is also an animator. Today
the Masuda Manga Museum has been created to exhibit his works.
The website japantravel.com writes - « When you arrive in the parking lot, there is an unremarkable big brown building, but what’s inside ? You pass through a narrow hallway that opens up into a spacious lobby. Then you realize where you are. On the walls there are manga drawings, a paradise of anime goodies in the gift shop around the corner begs you to hurry through the library to stop by, and there signs pointing towards the various attractions where you can enjoy. There will be a main exhibition which is enough to keep you busy for hours. For the diehard manga fan, there is usually a special exhibition for a few extra coins.
The last January, the city of Akita announced a renovation plan for the museum. At the same time, the directors of the museum wanted to gather more than 100,000 pieces in the collection . The museum is in expention, it will feature an open-air cafe to bring a relaxing atmosphere, according to the plan.

Prefecture has launched a campaign to become known as the “manga
kingdom” and has made quite an effort to collect original manga art
in recent years. The prefecture is also known as Shigeru Mizuki's
childhood « home » , a manga artist who died in November
2015.

assez anodin. A l'intérieur, vous passez par une allée étroite qui
débouche sur un hall spacieux. A ce moment vous réalisez où vous
êtes. Les murs sont couverts de dessin issues de manga, un véritable
paradis de produits dérivés se trouve dans la boutique à l'angle.
Il y a aussi des panneaux qui vous invitent à vous amuser sur
diverses attractions. Il y aura une exposition principale qui est
suffisante pour vous occuper pendant des heures. Même pour les fans
de manga les plus passionnés il y a habituellement une exposition
temporaire qu'on peut visiter après avoir acquitté un supplément.
En
janvier dernier, la ville d'Akita a annoncée un plan de rénovation
du musée. Au même moment, les directeurs du musée ont voulu y
réunir plus de 100.000 objets dans leur collection. Le musée est en
pleine expansion, il va prochainement inclure un café à ciel ouvert
afin de d'apporter une atmosphère relaxante, conformément au plan.
La
préfecture de Tottori a lancé une campagne pour faire connaître le
« Royaume du Manga » et ces dernières années elle a
fait un effort pour collecter des planches originales de mangas . La
préfecture est aussi connue pour avoir été le berceau de Shigeru
Mizuki, un mangaka mort en novembre 2015.
