The planetary treaty



Japan and the European Union sealed their free trade agreement on December 8, 2017.

After a first draft agreed on July 6, it has been announced today that Brussels and Tokyo had finalized the deal negotiated since 2013.

According to the European Union "they sent a strong message to the world".

This treaty is not only the most important treaty ever signed by the European Union but it is also one of the most important on the planet.

In fact, it will reduce 1 billion of euros in taxes that represent 97% of the customs duties on European exports to Japan.

The biggest beneficiaries will be European farmers already benefiting from a market of 5.7 billion annually.

Ultimately, 85% of European agri-food companies will enter duty-free in Japan.

Japan should recognize about 205 European geographical indications so that the only products with status can be sold.

Le Japon et l’Union européenne ont scellé leur traité de libre-échange le 8 décembre 2017.

Ce traité qui avait été ébauché le 6 juillet dernier a été finalisé entre Bruxelles et Tokyo qui le négociait depuis 2013.

D’après l’Union Européenne « c’est un message fort envoyé au monde » .

Ce traité est non seulement le traité le plus important jamais signé par l’Union Européenne, mais c’est aussi l’un des plus importants de la planète.

En effet, il réduira les droits de douane de près de 1 milliard d’euros, ce qui représente 97% des taxes sur les exportations européennes vers le Japon.

Les plus grands bénéficiaires devraient en être les agriculteurs européens, déjà acteurs d’un marché de 5,7 milliards annuel. A terme, 85% des produits agro-alimentaires européens entreront libres de taxes au Japon.

Le Japon devrait reconnaître environ 205 indications géographiques européennes afin que les seuls produits ayant ce statut puissent être vendus.
